THE NATIONAL FLAG TOUR

North Fort Myers, Florida — July 11, 2026

A historic milestone was reached on July 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., as the completed Patriot Soil Flag was officially unveiled to the public for the very first time during a special ceremony at AMVETS Post 81 in North Fort Myers, Florida.

The unveiling marked the completion of a national memorial years in the making. During the ceremony, Mary Robinson, co-founder of the Patriot Soil Project, ceremonially attached the final vial of sacred soil to the Florida star, completing the Patriot Soil Flag before veterans, military families, and members of the community.

The final state to be completed was Florida—Mary Robinson's home state and home to her family's roots spanning more than four generations. Like many Florida families, generations of her family have proudly served in the United States Armed Forces, making the completion of the flag both nationally significant and deeply personal.

The Patriot Soil Flag is a one-of-a-kind American flag created to honor the service, sacrifice, and legacy of America's veterans.

Over several years, Gary and Mary Robinson personally traveled to all fifty states, respectfully collecting small samples of sacred soil from the resting places of more than 50,000 American veterans. Each vial of sacred soil is permanently attached and tethered to the star representing the state where that soil was collected. Together, the fifty tethered vials create a permanent national memorial symbolizing the unity of all fifty states and the enduring legacy of those who served.

The unveiling was hosted by AMVETS Post 81, with special thanks to Post Commander Derrel Johnson, whose leadership and support made this historic event possible.

With the Patriot Soil Flag now complete and introduced to the public for the very first time, it is preparing to embark on its National Tour, beginning at the Southernmost Point in Key West, Florida. From there, the flag will travel throughout Florida and eventually across the United States, appearing at veterans organizations, memorial ceremonies, schools, patriotic events, and community gatherings.

The National Tour invites Americans everywhere to Stand with the Flag—a visible expression of gratitude and remembrance. At every stop, the Patriot Soil Flag will honor the service and sacrifice of America's veterans while inspiring future generations to remember those who defended our nation's freedoms.
