THE PATRIOT SOIL TREE
A Living Memorial Honoring All Who ServedOUR MISSION
The Patriot Soil Tree is envisioned as a living memorial—one rooted not only in earth, but in the collective sacrifice of those who served in the United States Armed Forces. It will be nourished by sacred soil gathered from the resting places of service members across all 50 states. To date, soil has been collected from more than 50,000 individual resting places, uniting the nation’s history, sacrifice, and spirit into a single, enduring symbol.
The Patriot Soil Tree is a nationwide effort to create living memorials in honor of the men and women of all branches of the United States Armed Forces—those who have stood watch on land, sailed the seas, and taken to the skies in defense of our freedom. From the nation’s founding to today, they have answered the call with courage, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to the country they loved.
This sacred soil represents the full diversity of our nation—every demographic, every ethnic background, every religion, and every belief. Beyond those differences, these men and women share a common bond: they answered the call to serve.
Every branch of the military is honored—Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. Many of those represented made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of their country. Their loss secured the freedoms we hold dear—it was their forfeiture of life that helped keep America free.
Others among them were awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Silver Star, and even the Medal of Honor. Every war and conflict in our nation’s history is represented, with some having served across multiple wars—including World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. This soil is more than earth; it carries the legacy of American heroes.
As the Patriot Soil Tree takes root and grows, it will stand as a powerful testament to unity. Its roots symbolize the deep foundation of sacrifice that supports the nation, while its trunk reflects strength and resilience. Its branches, reaching skyward, embody hope, freedom, and the enduring ideals for which so many fought.
More than a monument, the Patriot Soil Tree is meant to be experienced. Visitors will be able to stand beneath its canopy, touch its bark, and connect physically and emotionally with the legacy it represents. It offers a place for reflection, remembrance, and gratitude—where the memory of those who served continues to live and grow.
Patriot Soil Trees will be planted across the country, each one grown from a unified blend of soil representing all 50 states. Together, these living memorials will form a nationwide network of remembrance—ensuring that the legacy of America’s service members is honored in communities across the nation for generations to come.
One nation. One soil. Representing all 50 states.
HONORING OUR NATION’S’ HEROES
A Living Memorial Rooted in SacrificeThe Patriot Soil Project is a 100% volunteer initiative dedicated to honoring America’s veterans through a unique and heartfelt tribute. We do not accept cash donations — our greatest need is your time and effort. Volunteers collect soil from the final resting places of veterans, which nourishes Patriot Trees planted in public spaces across our nation.
Collected soil can be sent in and blended with soil from across America, creating a powerful symbol of unity that nourishes newly planted Patriot Trees.
For those who have recently lost a loved one who served in the military, there is a meaningful opportunity to collect a small sample of soil from that resting place and place it at the base or roots of a Patriot Tree. This act blends the spirit of all who served and can grow into a cherished American tradition at military funerals nationwide.

Why It Matters
Each Patriot Tree is more than a tree — it is a living symbol of courage, sacrifice, and enduring gratitude. These trees connect us to the very soil where our veterans rest, ensuring their legacy continues to grow and inspire.
By planting a Patriot Tree, we as a nation show our deep respect and honor for those who bravely served.
